Her early successes in the performing arts, that are now known to be Maureen O'Hara, would certainly have qualified her for her place in the "child prodigy" category. Maureen FitzSimons was the child of Charles FitzSimons. Peggy, Florrie Charles B. Fitzsimons Margot Fitzsimons made up this beautiful family. Maureen enjoyed playing athletic games as a child and excelled at sports. This passion was combined with an equally natural gift for performing. It was evident by her receiving nearly every Feis award for drama and theatrical performing her country offered. When she turned 14, she was admitted to the highly acclaimed Abbey Theater and pursued her goal of performing in classical theatre as well as operatic vocals.
