Ricci is the child with the smallest number of siblings from Ralph Ricci and Sarah Murdoch. Her birthplace was Santa Monica, California. Her mother worked as known as a Ford Agency model in the 1960s, and later became an estate agent. Her father is a former lawyer who was also a counsellor for drugs, fundamental screaming therapy and gymnastics instructor. Ricci said she believed that her Italian origins are the direct result of the surname she carries. Five or six generations ago the Italian couple wed a Irish woman. They had their entire sons. The Irish were married to more wives and they had more kids. The family of Ricci moved from Italy and moved to Montclair, New Jersey. Ricci attended Montclair High School.
