The first time she appeared on TV was at the age of two when she was a child on The Don Mahoney Kiddie Trooper Show. At the age of 13, having ten years of vocal and dancing instruction ahead of her, she and her mother travelled on a journey to L.A. for a year to see if she could pursue a career in show business. Within two months she secured her first job that was paid, dancing for the Danny Kaye Show with Danny Kaye. "I've used my training in dancing and singing in so many ways," she says. "The training you gain from it is great for an actor." O'Toole's first appearance as an actor was My Three Sons. This was followed by Gunsmoke. The Mod Squad. and Hawaii Five-O. O'Toole is a regular on more than 40 television series. Despite her popularity both in television and film her passion lies in theater. In the six years since her time on Smallville concluded, she decided to concentrate on theatre, which she has been doing for the past decade. First auditions on stage in New York led her to be chosen to play The Sea Gull.
